About Us
The Japan Gaming Association (JGA) is a Japan's nascent gaming industry association. The JGA is a non-profit association and was established in 2017. The main purpose of the JGA is to cultivate sound gaming industry and contribute to revitalization for the gaming market in Japan. As of 2018, 16 domestic companies participate in our activities and they are mainly;
①Equipment manufactures and systems integrators who are interested in providing their products to the gaming industry
②Companies who have an interest in developing and operating IRs
Our Activities
We do researches on gaming laws and regulations in other countries to see what kind of laws and regulations are appropriate for Japanese IRs from the industry perspective. We also research on social costs that caused by the introduction of IRs such as problem gambling.
We hold a study session every month and discuss on various topics including economic effects of the IR and effective countermeasures against problem gambling with the companies. We allow companies who are interested in doing business related to IRs attend to the study session for one time only as an observer. We also admit people related to public organizations such as local governments or assembly members to attend the study session for free of charge.
We also make a policy proposal to law makers and relevant ministries based on our research and the discussions as needed. We also have submit public comments implemented by national government and some local prefectures.
Annual Membership Fees
The JGA annual membership fee is 600,000 yen per year, plus consumption tax. The members are allowed to attend the study session every month.
